Bus Activities for 2010 Kindness Week
Friday, February 12
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Our Kindness Crew will be on the Kindness Bus touring around Ottawa handing out Kindness Cards, smiles and other surprises.
5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
The Kindness Bus will be picking up local youth to enjoy an Ottawa 67’s game at the Civic Centre and bringing them home afterwards.
Saturday, February 13
1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
The Kindness Bus will be picking up the ladies from the Yummy Mummy Kindness Crew and bringing them to the Ottawa Food Bank where they will be treated to a tour of the facility and then put to work sorting food.
Sunday, February 14
10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
The Kindness Crew from Rotary Ottawa will be getting on the Kindness Bus and heading down to the Ottawa Mission to help out with the Valentine’s Day lunch. They will also be bringing much-needed donations on the bus to pass out during the lunch.
Monday, February 15
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The Kindness Crew will be dusting off their halos on Parliament Hill at the “Adopt or Foster an Angel” event. Come one; come all to help create hundreds of snow angels across Parliament Hill.
1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Next up, the Kindness Crew will spread out across the downtown to perform acts of kindness in the Byward Market.
Tuesday, February 16
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Thanks to our Kindness partners at local Wal-Mart stores, the Kindness Crew will be going on a shopping spree at one location to benefit community agencies.
Wednesday, February 17
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The Annual “Stuff the Bus” event is back bigger and better than ever. With the help of the Kindness Crew, the bus will be stuffed with donations from generous local suppliers. Once the bus has been filled to capacity, the Crew will then help deliver these much needed donations to many community partners.
4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The Kindness Crew will be heading out to the west end with pizza to feed some hungry volunteers who have been performing acts of kindness in their community.
Thursday, February 18
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The Kindness Crew will spend the morning scouring the city for used suits to donate to a program called Suited for Success, which helps people be prepared and looking good for their job interviews. It’s located at Funk Your Junk, a consignment store on Somerset Street.
